Blu-ray, also known as Blu-ray Disc (BD), is the name related with a next generation optical disc format. It’s the same physical proportions as regular DVDs and also Compact disks, however provides over 5 times the actual storage capability of traditional DVDs, holding up to 27 Gigabite of information on a single-layer disc, that is more than Two hours of high definition video or even about 13 hrs of standard video, and also as much as Fifty GB on a dual-layer disc. Current developments by Pioneer have delivered the storage potential to 500GB on a solitary disc by utilizing Twenty layers.

This added capability merged together along with the use of advanced video and audio codecs provides customers an unparalleled High definition experience. Additionally, add-ons like bonus material and special features may be included in high quality within the same disc, so there’s no need for separate bonus discs to accompany the movie title.

Blu-ray was collectively developed by the Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA), a collection of the world’s best consumer electronics, personal computer and also media companies, which includes Dell, Apple, HP, Hitachi, JVC, Mitsubishi, Pioneer, LG, Panasonic, Philips, Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Thomson and TDK. It has been created to permit recording, rewriting and also playback of high-definition video (HD), as well as storing large amounts of data.

Though present optical disc technologies like DVD make full use of a red laser to read and also write data, the Blu-ray format utilizes a blue-violet laser in its place. The benefit of utilizing a blue-violet laser (405 nm) is that it’s got a shorter wavelength than a red laser (650 nm), rendering it achievable to focus the laser area with perhaps higher accuracy. This allows data to become packed more closely and stored in a minimal amount of space, so it’s possible to fit much more files on the disc. Nevertheless, despite different type of lasers used, Blu-ray products can easily be made backwards suitable with CDs and DVDs through the usage of a BD/DVD/CD compatible optical pickup unit.

Throughout the format war over high-definition optical discs, Blu-ray Disc competed with the High definition DVD format. Yet, on February 19, 2008, Toshiba, the main organization supporting High definition DVD, declared that it would certainly no longer produce, make, or even market High definition DVD players and recorders, leading almost all other HD DVD organizations to follow suit, and therefore effectively concluding the format war. Blu -ray is currently supported by about 200 of the world’s major pc, consumer electronics, recording media, music and video game companies. The format has the advantage of support coming from all Hollywood studios and different smaller studios to be a successor to the current DVD format. Key blank media companies for instance TDK also support the Blu-ray Disc format as the successor to DVD.

Blu-ray offers a number of the strongest copy protection methods ever created for any buyer format, rendering it the most effective option for just about any content publisher needing assurance that their valuable assets are guarded from piracy. The format has a powerful copy protection system, which not just utilizes implementation on the playback device, but which also consists of precautions at replicator level, which can be strictly controlled. As opposed to the voluntary execution of CSS protection in DVD, the copy protection mechanism for Blu-ray Disc is required and will be governed by strict licensing procedures.

The 1980’s started with the 31st season of FIA Formula One motor racing. It featured the 1980 World Championship of Drivers and the 1980 International Cup for F1 Constructors which were contested concurrently from January 13 to October 5 over a fourteen race series. It was a decade that was to see many changes both on and off the track. It was the decade where Bernie Ecclestone rose to the fore in the sport, and started to move it into a million dollar business while helping to bring safety back into focus.

The season got off to a bad start (the first 3 races were nearly boycotted; the first 2 due to safety concerns with both the Buenos Aires and Interlagos circuits and the third because of a dispute between FISA and FOCA.) The Drivers’ Championship was won by Australian Alan Jones in a Williams and Williams took the Constructors award, the first of many Formula One titles for the English team during this decade. The season was marred however by a number of accidents; veteran Clay Regazzoni was paralysed from the waist down after a huge shunt at Long Beach and never raced in Formula One again, Frenchman Patrick Depailler lost his life on August 1 while testing for Alfa Romeo at Hockenheim and Jean-Pierre Jabouille broke both legs after a head-on shunt at Montreal and was out for the remainder of the season, to name a few. This continued the tragedy of Formula One, with lessons not apparently learnt from the 1970’s when losing a life was a regular occurrence in the racing season. This is the start of the dominance of FISA and the lessening of power of FOCA. The sport started to monitor itself and develop safety features on cars that would hopefully reduce the risk to the drivers and spectators. This was due to FISA implementing new rules which in turn led to teams developing drivers aids to reduce risk but increase speed.

These technical developments started to take away driver skills in some people’s eyes. To counteract this FISA imposed a ban on ground effect aerodynamics during 1983.By then however turbocharged engines, which Renault had pioneered in 1977, were producing over 700 bhp and were essential to be competitive. By 1986, a BMW turbocharged engine produced over 1,300 bhp in qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix. The next year, power in race trim reached around 1,100 bhp , with boost pressure limited . These cars were the most powerful open -wheel circuit racing cars ever. To reduce engine power output and thus speeds, the FIA limited fuel tank capacity in 1984 and boost pressures in 1988 before banning turbocharged engines completely in 1989. In addition to this, electronic driver aids began during this decade. Lotus began to develop a system of active suspension which first appeared during 1982 on the F1 Lotus 91 and also the Lotus Esprit road car. It appeared that speed and safety went hand in hand.

On the track, McLaren Brabham and the Williams teams dominated the 1980s, with McClaren winning five championships, Williams winning three and Brabham winning two drivers’ championships with Nelson Piquet. This started the competition between three of the of the best drivers in Formula one drivers ever, Nelson Piquet, Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna winning seven championships between them. Both Prost and Piquet became triple world champions in this decade with Senna starting his dominance in 1988 and winning his first. The other World Champions were Alan Jones in 1980, Keke Rosberg in 1982 and finally Niki Lauda winning his third and final World Championship in 1984.

What an era this was, the rivalry between racers Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost became F1’s central focus during this time, starting in 1988 and continued until Prost retired . This competitive rivalry was taking place even though they were in the same team, McClaren, which just showed the dominance of McClaren and their Honda engines, with the best drivers in the world fighting for the World Championship.

The 1970’s started the playboy era of formula 1, when some of the old guard retired and the younger more fun loving drivers started coming through. The sport was still slightly amateurish in its running both in safety and the way it was run. This meant the sport still had quite a high level of fatalities where the drivers hoped to be back on the grid the following year but were never sure.

The 1970 Formula One season included the 21st FIA World Championship season, which commenced on March 7, 1970, and ended on October 25 after thirteen races. This is the only season to date in which the World Championship title has been awarded posthumously. The new wedge-shaped Lotus 72 was a very innovative car featuring torsion bar suspension, hip-mounted radiators, inboard front brakes and an overhanging rear wing. The 72 originally had suspension problems, but when anti-dive and anti-squat were designed out of the suspension the car quickly showed is superiority and Lotus’ new leader, the Austrian Jochen Rindt, dominated the championship until he was killed at Monza when a brake shaft broke. He won 5 out of 13 races for Lotus and amassed 45 points while Lotus also took the the constructors title with 59 points. Jacky Ickx won the Austrian, Canadian and Mexican Grands Prix to come second in the drivers’ championship, having re-joined Ferrari from Brabham. Had he won the United States Grand Prix instead of Brazilian up-riser Emerson Fittipaldi, Ickx would have been crowned champion. Also in this year there were 3 non championship races all held in Britain. Triple champion Jack Brabham also retired having seen his friend and colleague Jochen Rindt die.

The 1974 Formula One season included the 25th FIA Formula One World Championship season, which commenced on January 13, 1974, and ended on October 6 after fifteen races. Emerson Fittipaldi and Clay Regazzoni went into the last race level on points, but Regazzoni dropped down the field with handling problems, so Fittipaldi’s fourth place gave him the championship. Two F1 drivers died over the course of the season,Peter Revson in a practice session accident at the South African GP in March, then Austrian newcomer Helmuth Koinigg at the US GP in October. The 1975 Formula One season was the 26th season of FIA Formula One motor racing. It featured the 1975 World Championship of F1 Drivers and the 1975 International Cup for F1 Manufacturers which were contested concurrently from January 12 to October 5 over fourteen races. After a strong finish to the 1974 season, many observers felt the Brabham team were favourites to win the 1975 title. The year started well, with an emotional first win for Carlos Pace at the Interlagos circuit in his native Sao Paulo. However, over the season tyre wear frequently slowed the cars, and the initial promise was not maintained. Niki Lauda often refers to 1975 as “the unbelievable year”. In his second year with Ferrari, the team provided him with the Ferrari 312T- a car that was technically far superior to any of the competition. He won his first world title with 5 wins and a huge margin over second placed Ronnie Peterson in the championship.

The 1976 season was an extraordinarily political season, that saw the world championship go to James Hunt by one point from Niki Lauda, although Ferrari took the constructors’ title. Controversy began in Spain where Hunt was initially disqualified from first place, giving the race to Lauda, only for the decision to be overturned on appeal months later. The six wheeled Tyrrell confounded the sceptics by winning in Sweden, with Lauda third and Hunt fifth. Hunt won in France and, it seemed, in Britain, but the race had been restarted after a first lap pile-up and Hunt re-started in a spare car which was against the rules. He was eventually disqualified after an appeal from Ferrari, whose own driver,Regazzoni, had also re-started in a spare. Lauda became the official race winner. This is the season where Lauda crashed heavily in Germany and appeared likely to die from his injuries, but miraculously, Lauda returned to finish fourth in Italy, where Hunt, Jochen Mass and Watson were relegated to the back of the grid for alleged infringements of the regulations. Hunt won in Canada and in the USA but Lauda took third to lead Hunt by three points going into the final race in Japan. In appalling weather conditions Mario Andretti won, Lauda gave up because of the hazardous conditions, and Hunt eventually finished third to take the title.

The 1977 Formula One season included the 28th World Championship season, which commenced on January 9, 1977, and ended on October 23 after seventeen races. Niki Lauda took his second championship, though Mario Andretti won more races. The season was also marred by one of the most horrific accidents in Formula One history. During the South African GP on March 5, TV cameras captured how Tom Pryce was unable to avoid 19-year-old race marshal Frederiik Jansen Van Vuuren. The latter was killed by the terrifying collision, his bloody corpse was hurtled into the air, and his fire extinguisher killed and nearly decapitated Pryce, whose car proceeded to the end of the straight where it collided with Jacques Laffite’s Ligier. The 1978 Formula One season included the 29th World Championship which commenced on January 15, 1978, and ended on October 8 after sixteen races. Mario Andretti won the Championship and was the last American to date to win a Formula One race. The season will also be remembered for the death of Ronnie Peterson, who would finish second in the Championship standings despite a fatal first lap accident at Monza during the Italian Grand Prix. The season also saw James Hunt retire after seeing one too many colleagues die, The end of the playboy era. The final season in the 70’s was 1979, saw 15 races contested ,with Jody Scheckter eventually winning the title with 51 points.

A Realtor to the stars is the one person that works in close quarters with the Hollywood stars of today and the past. Therefore, there are a few key characteristics that people expect with they are working with a Realtor to the stars. First off, the person may have a certain amount of tact when it comes to delicate issues. Many times the person that is buying a home does not want others to know that they are buying this home because they want to keep it a private getaway that they can go to without having to worry about being followed. Therefore, the Realtor must be able to keep their mouths shut when they are dealing with this person.

For starters, the Realtor must make sure that they establish themselves in those areas in which stars want to live. Yes, on occasions an actor or actress will choose to live out in the middle of no where, however, the majority of the times the person is going to want to live in California, and they are going to want those high profile areas such as Sunset Plaza, Doheny Estates, Beverly Hills and so forth. Therefore, start selling a few homes in the neighboring areas in order to gain the reputation of being hard-working and fair to those that take you on as their Realtor. After all, no one wants to work with someone who is not considered one of the best in their chosen field.

First off, they must have a reputation of selling homes. This does not mean that stars are looking for someone who is simply going to sell their house fast while getting much less than what it is really worth. They want someone who is going to value the home and then get that amount for it. This is hard to do in today’s economy with all the houses on the market, most people are having to take a hit on just how much they get for the home. However, the Realtor has to portray the real market conditions to the client in order to make them truly understand what they are going to get of the home. And when dealing with the stars it may be harder than it would be normally.

Secondly, the Realtor needs to make sure that they are keeping all the discussions between them and the star completely private so that the star does not feel as if the Realtor is yet another fan. This may mean that the Realtor has to play down the presence of the person, even if they are completely in love with their work. Most of the time stars prefer to work with those that do not treat them any differently than just a regular person.

Overall, the Realtor to the stars is just like any other Realtor out there, however, they do have to make sure that the privacy of the client is kept, as this is the wish of many clients. Most of those that start in this business find their big break with helping one star and getting recommended by word of mouth from there on out.
